An applicant should have at least a mean grade of C+ (plus) with a C+ in Mathematics and C (Plain) in English or Kiswahili in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or At least two principal passes and one subsidiary pass in Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) plus at least a pass in Mathematics and English at “O” level OR, Be a holder of a Diploma in Economics or Business-related study studies

A One-year Diploma in Human Resource Management, Project Planning and Management, Entrepreneurship, Economics/Agricultural Economics, Business Management or any other Business/Management related course recognised by Moi University, with at least C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent examination, recognised by Moi University. A Two-year Diploma in Human Resource Management, Project Planning and Management, Entrepreneurship, Economics/Agricultural Economics, Business Management or any other Business/Management related course recognised by Moi University, with at least C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent examination recognised by Moi University. A One-year Diploma in Human Resource Management, Project Planning and Management, Entrepreneurship, Economics/Agricultural Economics, Business Management or any other Business/Management related course with Certificate in a relevant area, recognised by Moi University, and at least C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent examination recognised by Moi University.

Candidates with a principal D and above in at least two subjects at A level (KACE or equivalent approved by University Senate) in either Sciences or Arts subjects obtained in the same sitting may also be admitted.

The applicant must fulfill the KUCCPS requirements as prescribed in the cluster 6 of admission criteria; minimum of C+ or Two principal passes and the subsidiary pass at KACE- “A” Level or Applicants in possession of a Moi University Senate recognized diploma in the relevant area may be admitted in the programme.

Students wishing to specialize in Computer Studies should have a Minimum of C in Maths and Physics at KCSE. KCSE mean grade of C+ (plus) or its equivalent.  B (plain) in Mathematics, B (plain) in Physics OR B+ (plus) in Physical Science, B- (Minus) in one humanity subject and one language subject.

An applicant must have Bachelor’s degree in Kiswahili of Moi University or its equivalent from other recognized universities. Holders of Masters Degrees in Linguistics, Literature or other related disciplines with required background in Kiswahili may also apply. An applicant may be required to attend an interview organized by the department in order to ascertain competence in the use of Kiswahili and other goals as shall be set for the interview. An applicant shall be required to present a comprehensive C.V. and an abstract on the topic intended for research.

To be admitted into this programme, the applicant must fulfill JAB requirements as prescribed in cluster 6 of the KUCCPS admission criteria. A minimum mean grade of C+ at KSCE or Two principles and subsidiary pass at KACE- “A” Level or Diploma in Public Administration, Diplomacy or International Relations (lasting over one calendar year) from a recognized /accredited institution.

Have obtained a minimum of a Grade C+ in Geography and C in Mathematics and any of Group II courses at Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) level or 2 principles (one of which should be in geography) and 2 subsidiaries at A level and should have at least three years or relevant working experience in a recognized field. Or Have a Diploma and/or also have a Higher National diploma in a related subject (with distinction or credit) from a recognized institution.

At least C+ (Plus) in English at KCSE or equivalent qualification recognized by Moi University. A One-year Diploma in Communication and Public Relations, Mass Communication and Media Studies recognized by Moi University, with at least C (Plain) at KCSE or equivalent examination, recognized by Moi University. A Two-Year Diploma in Communication and Public Relations, Mass Communication and Media Studies, recognized by Moi University, with at least C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent examination recognized by Moi University. A ONE Year Diploma in Communication and Public Relations, Mass Communication and Media Studies, with Certificate in a relevant area, recognized by Moi University, and at least C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent examination recognized by Moi University.

Those who want to major in Mathematics must have passed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with the minimum grades as indicated for the following subjects: Physics B- (minus) or Physical Science B (plain) and Mathematics B- (minus). For those majoring in Botany/Zoology, the minimum requirement for Mathematics is C (Plain). For those intending to major in Chemistry and Biochemistry, they should possess at least C+ (plus) in Chemistry and in any two of the following three subjects: Mathematics, Biology and Geography Those intending to major in Physics, they should possess at least a C+ (plus) in Physics and in any two of the following three subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry and Geography

KCSE grade C+ (Plus) or its equivalent. C+ (plus) in English/ Kiswahili, C+ in Biology, C+ in Maths/Physics/ Geography, and C+ in Chemistry/Agriculture.

KCSE mean grade of C+ (plus) or its equivalent. C+ (plus) Mathematics, and C (plain) in English/Kiswahili, any group III and any group II, or any group IV, or any group V.

They must satisfy common University regulations on admission. In addition, candidates must obtain at least the minimum cut-off points for the year as determined from one of the following subject clusters drawn from the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) at “B” level for each of the following subjects: Mathematics or Physics Chemistry Biology English/Kiswahili Those holding qualifications equivalent to the above from institutions recognized by Moi University Senate may also be considered.
